Livability.com is out with their top 10 Best Foodie Cities for 2015 and Omaha is second best in the nation. The website’s editor Matt Carmichael says they looked at several factors to determine the top ten.
He says, “They looked at cities where people are spending money and time going out to restaurants. These are small boutique restaurants and not chains or fast food. They looked at places that have a good concentration of restaurants and then got into the quality aspects. Are there award winning restaurants or Michelin stars or well reviewed restaurants from Yelp and other places to give us a qualitative aspect as well.”
Livability.com says Omaha restaurants lead the nation in utilizing local ingredients and the farm-to-table movement. Restaurants in Omaha have a bounty of fresh sustainable food choices. Several of the restaurants mentioned by Livability.com include Amsterdam Falafel & Kabob, Casa Pizzeria, Block 16, Boiler Room and Grey Plume.
