An abduction in Sarpy County this morning ended with one man behind bars and a woman in the hospital. Sarpy County Sheriff’s officials say a man walked into a daycare center near 156th and Giles just before 8:30. He was armed with a knife and took a woman against her will, got into a vehicle and took off.
Authorities say the woman was apparently stabbed while inside the vehicle. Near 204th and Q Street the woman was able to break free and get out of the vehicle where she yelled for help.
The suspect took off but crashed the vehicle several blocks away and took off running. With the help of a police dog the suspect was found hiding behind the foundation of a house under construction.
The woman was rushed to a hospital in critical condition and at last check had been taken into surgery. Names have not been released.
