The Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge that spans the Missouri River from Nebraska into Iowa is now a video star. Omaha Convention and Visitors Bureau spokesperson Deborah Ward says “Bob” is a one-of-a-kind bridge that is full of friendly Midwestern self-confidence so they decided to give him a voice and share his point of view through a series of videos.
Ward says, “Bob sees a lot from his perspective. He is a handsome bridge and he knows it and you can watch one of the videos and see that the Golden Gate Bridge, she digs him. You will see Bob’s take on the College World Series. We have a “Goodnight Omaha” video. Bob’s seen proposals. Bob’s seen different animals, pigeons and dogs. Bob’s seen races. Bob’s seen a lot of things and you’ll see that over the next few weeks.”
The Omaha Convention and Visitors Bureau created thirteen short videos that will be shared on Instragram and Twitter. Ward says they are also looking a fun ways to engage the public. She says they designed a special webpage, www.bobthebridge.com that is dedicated to “Bobbing” photos. That is the ability to stand in two states at the same time.
