Nebraska authorities report a third person has drowned in Nebraska over the weekend.
Jefferson County officials say 32-year-old Christopher Troxel of Fairbury drowned while swimming at the Fairbury Dam. The Hebron Volunteer Fire Department Dive Team helped find Troxel’s body Sunday afternoon under the dam’s power house.
According to Jefferson County, rescue crews responded shortly before 4:30pm to a report that a swimmer had not surfaced after swimming close to the dam.
The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission reports 67-year-old Guerrero Perales of Crete drowned in Branched Oak Lake Saturday evening.
A 74-year-old Oregon woman died Friday after slipping off a dock at the Willow Creek State Recreation Area lake near Pierce in northeast Nebraska and falling into the water Sunday.
The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission has not released the name of the woman from Oakland, Oregon.
