Sioux City man made the trip to La Vista to sell camera equipment he advertised on Craigslist. La Vista Police Chief Bob Lausten says there was one big problem – the equipment had been stolen.
Chief Lausten says last May a man from California was staying at a hotel in La Vista and a bag containing $4,000 in camera equipment disappeared. He says the victim called La Vista police last week saying he found the equipment for sale on Craigslist and was hoping they could help.
Chief Lausten says detectives posed as customers and contacted the seller. They asked for serial numbers off the equipment and told the man they would be checking to see if it was stolen merchandise. He says the man was notified it was stolen equipment but the man still wanted to make the sale.
Chief Lausten says on Friday, July 10th, Keegan Ingram made the trip from Sioux City, Iowa to La Vista where he was taken into custody for possession of stolen property.
