From May 26th through June 27th, the Metro Fugitive Task Force and the Omaha Police Department’s Gang Unit teamed with U-S Marshals to target gang members and violent offenders.
That operation resulted in 138 felony arrests – which were either gang members or had committed violent offenses that include assault, kidnapping, terroristic threats, escape and firearm offenses.
Illegal narcotics, including crack cocaine, marijuana, methamphetamine, Xanex and ecstasy, with a street value of $35,590 along with $5,531 in currency was seized. The also took 32 illegal firearms off the street and added 29 new gang members to their database. Omaha officers made 356 street contacts with gang members during the month long operation.
