The Department of Correctional Services reports 49-year-old Douglas Wright died Thursday after being treated for a lingering medical condition. Wright was scheduled to be released in February after serving a prison sentence for selling methamphetamine.
Earlier, 56-year-old Charles Burriell had been found unresponsive in his prison cell. Corrections officials took him to a Lincoln hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Burriell had been serving a prison sentence of up to 30 years for the first-degree sexual assault of a child.
