A Lexington woman died early Sunday afternoon when the car she was driving left the roadway and struck a culvert in north Lexington.
According to a Lexington Police Report, 19-year-old Elizabeth Thomas was driving a south on Highway 21 when her vehicle left the roadway, went into the east ditch where it struck a culvert and overturned before coming to rest in a parking lot on south Cherokee Street.
Thomas was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.
She was transported to Lexington Regional Health Center by Lexington Rescue where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
