Schrock says, “Windows 10 is an amazing operating system. Anybody who has a Windows 7 or 8 computer might be eligible for a free, as in a no cost from Microsoft at all, update to Windows 10. Your computer’s hardware must be compatible. Almost every computer running Windows 8 is compatible. Most computers running Windows 7 are compatible.”
Schrock says if you are getting a pop-up window on your computer about upgrading to Windows 10 your system is compatible. He says, “You won’t get a pop-up if your computer isn’t compatible or if any device, like an old printer, isn’t compatible. Another thing to be aware of for those who use Office 2003 or 2007, neither are compatible. You will have to buy new versions if you use Windows 10.”
Schrock says Microsoft will deliver it through computers using an automatic update. It will be delivered in waves so it may not be available immediately. Microsoft will notify you when the upgrade is ready for your computer. Those wanting to upgrade can reserve it now by clicking on the Windows icon for more information.
