Nebraska football coach Mike Riley says he was pleased with the opening day of fall camp. The Huskers first practice was last night and Riley says they decided to go with evening workouts because several players are still taking summer classes in the morning.
“After just one spring we were able to come out here and get in some formations and run some plays” said Riley. “That’s pretty good. That’s a function of them learning some stuff in the spring and having some carry over.”
Riley took time to greet the members of the Nebraska Board of Regents prior to the start of practice.
Senior defensive tackle Vincent Valentine sat out practice Thursday night due to a knee bruise. He is expected back in a day or two.
