When the Nebraska football team returns to the practice field on Tuesday night it will be the Huskers first workout in full pads. Defensive coordinator Mark Banker says to this point practice has been in shoulder pads and helmets but several newcomers have been impressive.
Banker says even though it is early in camp the defense is adjusting to game speed.
“BYU has been one of the fastest teams over the last year and a half coming in and out of the huddle between plays, seven to 11 seconds”, said Banker. “It is a lot easier to slow it down than speed it up so we have had some discussions about that.”
The Huskers open by hosting the Cougars on September fifth.
