The Nebraska football team practiced in full pads for the first time on Tuesday night and coach Mike Riley had to adjust his practice plan due to several minor injuries. Riley says he wanted to use two fields to get plenty of repetition but the Huskers used just one field instead.
“It really limits the reps for the third and fourth string guys as we go and for me it is a little early to do that”, said Riley. “We do not have enough receivers running right now to have two fields.”
A player that stood out at practice Tuesday night during the scrimmage portion was redshirt freshman running back Mikale Wilbon. Wilbon, a native of Chicago had several nice long runs. Riley mentioned that Wilbon has impressed so far in camp, making a tremendous jump from where he was at in spring.
