Mark Philipp brought a new philosophy and new enthusiasm to the Husker strength and conditioning program. Philipp spent the past two years on the staff at USC before being hired by Mike Riley and junior safety Nate Gerry says his impact at Nebraska was immediate.
“I like the way he interacts with us. He sees himself as one of us”, said Gerry. “That’s one thing you want to see out of a coach. To do something more than just to teach us moving weights but to bring the team chemistry together.”
Gerry says the Huskers are doing more Olympic style lifts under Philipp that test their athletic ability. The Huskers return to the practice field this evening.
