Big plays highlighted a Husker Scrimmage which included more than 100 play on Saturday night. One of the standouts was freshman wide receiver
Stanley Morgan, who had three touchdown receptions.
Nebraska coach Mike Riley praised quarterback Tommy Armstrong, who highlighted his day with a 50-yard touchdown run.
“If what we could do as a goal it to utilize thoes things he can do and has done and then get the things in the passing game to compliment them that’s where we have to head”, said Riley. “Then I think it could be pretty exciting.”
On the defensive side of the ball, Coach Riley liked the defensive intensity, but mentioned that you cannot win games giving up big plays in the Big Ten.
“Defensively there was a lot of good defense but I think we gave up in general probably too many big plays,” Riley said. “One of the key elements of winning games is not giving up big plays and tackling.”
The Huskers return to the practice field this morning.
