Junior quarterback Ryker Fyfe is gaining strength and climbing the depth chart. It was a summer to forget for Fyfe, who was away from the team for nearly three months with an undisclosed health issue. Fyfe says the coaches were supportive during the ordeal.
“They said you keep competing and you come back and look healthy and fine you will get a chance”, said Fyfe. “Last week they kind of moved me up to twos and said I would get a shot at this.”
Fyfe says his teammates have also supported him as he tries to put back on the 23 pounds he lost and regain the job as the Huskers’ backup quarterback. He is competing with redshirt freshmen AJ Bush and Zack Darlington for the number two spot.
