With Ameer Abdullah in the NFL it is Terrell Newby’s time in the spolight at Nebraska. The California native rushed for 297 yards and five touchdowns last season as the backup to the All American running back.
Newby will be the starting I-back for the Huskers when they open on Saturday against BYU.
“I try to go out everyday with the attitude of just making a consistent effort and just go hard every single day”, said Newby. “I think i’ve done that and been on top of my playbook.”
Newby says even though he is at the top of the depth chart he doesn’t feel the pressure to become Abdullah.
“I’ve learned a lot of great things from Ameer”, said Newby. “At the same time I am my own player. I just want to go out and execute everything I am supposed to do.”
