A second teen-ager, who escaped with him, remains at large.
Authorities say the 16-year-old was spotted at a Sarpy County residence late Wednesday night. Officers took him into custody without incident.
Police suspect the teens might have stolen a pick-up from a Kearney residence Monday evening after escaping from the juvenile detention center.
Police located the truck in Lincoln Wednesday morning, but lost track of it when the driver sped off. A car stolen from a Lincoln convenience store that morning was seen following the pick-up. Later, it was abandoned after it became disabled. The driver fled the scene before police could arrive.
The apprehended teen is being held in the Sarpy County Juvenile Justice Center with possible charges pending in connection with Monday’s escape.
