Gov. Pete Ricketts, along with 1st Lady Susanne Shore, have unveiled the design for the Nebraska Sesquicentennial Commission’s special issue license plate.
The special plate incorporates the logo and branding unveiled earlier this year for Nebraska’s sesquicentennial anniversary, which will be celebrated in 2017.
“The sesquicentennial license plate is another great way for Nebraskans to celebrate our state as our 150th anniversary of statehood approaches,” Gov. Ricketts said in a written statement released by his office. “The license plate allows Nebraskans to share the news about our state’s important anniversary as they travel.”
A copy of the sesquicentennial plate can be purchased for $70 at the Department of Motor Vehicles. It will be available October 1st.
The logo and brand were developed with the assistance of Bailey Lauerman, a Nebraska-based marketing and advertising agency.
Additional announcements about celebration activities will be made later.
