Nebraska is looking to slim down the rotation at running back this week as the Huskers prepare for South Alabama. Terrell Newby, Imani Cross and Mikale Wilbon combined for 23 carries in a season opening loss to BYU.
Running back coach Reggie Davis says they went into the BYU game with certain plays designed for each running back.
“That’s why some of the rotations were as they were because certain plays got called and we wanted certain guys in there”, said Davis. “There was definitely and plan and there will be a plan this week. We will have them ready.”
Newby rushed for 43 yards and a touchdown against BYU while Cross added 34 yards on seven carries.
