Nebraska coach Mike Riley says his team bounced back well after a heartbreaking loss to BYU with a solid week of preparation as they get set to host South Alabama.
Riley says he’s not concerned they will be looking ahead to next week’s trip to Miami.
“I tell our team this is not baseball, it’s not a three game series so we only have one game to prepare for”, said Riley. “Everything we got goes into this game, coaching staff and players. If you do a good job of that then the future takes care of itself.”
Riley added that Cethan Carter is the lone player that will remain suspended this week, which means the Huskers will be thin at tight end.
“Sam Cotton has done a nice job this week of getting ready to play,” said Riley. “Andy Janovich is the H-Back/fullback, so it gives us a little versatility. My hope is that Trey Foster will be ready to play. He has had very limited, if any, practice. I talked to him today and he felt pretty good.”
Punter Sam Foltz continues to progress from his ankle injury and he will be a game time decision.
It will be one of two night games at Memorial Stadium with a 7:00p.m. kickoff
