A 17 year old Nebraska City girl is currently in the Otoe County jail facing charges in a hit-and-run accident that critically injured 22 year old woman. Otoe County Attorney David Partsch says crime scene investigators were called to the area shortly after Amber Shipley was hit Monday evening.
He says the teen was driving a pickup when she turned around in a church parking lot, drove through a grassy area and onto the sidewalk striking Shipley. The teen then took off. Shipley was rushed to a Lincoln hospital with life threatening head injuries.
Partsch says later Monday evening the teen and her father showed up at the Nebraska City Police Department where the girl surrendered to authorities. The girl is currently being held in the Otoe County jail with charges pending.
Partsch says the two females knew one another and had a history of feuding. He says, “Based on the history of the parties and the route of the motor vehicle we do believe this may have been an intentional crime and the suspect is being charged.”
Partsch says he is waiting to receive more information to determine what those charges will be.
