Speed is always a concern when preparing for Miami and it is a focus for Nebraska as the Huskers get set for Saturday’s game in Sun Life Stadium. Husker linebacker coach Trent Bray says the Hurricanes have big play capabilities in the passing game and on the ground.
“Their skill is very talented and they are good up front”, said Bray. They are just a talented team so we have got to do a good job making sure we get things leveraged so the ball does not get outside on us and have guys run to ball and swarm them.”
Offensive coordinator Danny Langsdorf says It is not limited to the Miami offense and speed will also be an element the Husker offensive line will need to combat.
“They are quick, their good up front and they return a lot on their defensive squad and then they have got some big guys”, said Langsdorf. “They are 300 pounds across the board on that defensive line and they’ve got some back end speed, especially at linebacker.”
The Huskers have won six of the 11 games in the series which dates back to Nebraska’s first night game in 1951.
