A young Nebraska man died in a traffic crash in Hastings in which it appears one vehicle was trying to pass another.
An investigation is underway into the accident that left 23-year-old Patrick Voorhees dead.
Authorities report Voorhees was a passenger in a Jeep which rolled after colliding with a pick-up late last night.
Hastings police say the two vehicles were traveling east on E Street and ran into each other near the intersection of South St. Joseph Avenue. Officers who responded to the scene report it appears one vehicle was overtaking the other when they crashed.
The Jeep was driven by Robert Hoy; the pick-up by Seth Huffman. Huffman had two passengers in the pick-up. No other injuries have been reported.
The Nebraska State Patrol will reconstruct the crash. It is unclear whether alcohol played a role.
