Upwards of 3,000 runners will take their mark on Sunday morning for the 40th annual Omaha Marathon. This year’s course is flat and fast that features scenic views of downtown Omaha, the Missouri River and Carter Lake, Iowa.
Omaha Marathon Sponsorship Director David Kiviat says, “The thing that is different about this race is the Omaha Marathon has a distance for everyone. It also includes a half marathon, a 10K race, a 5K race and a Friends and Family mile.”
The starting line is at TD Ameritrade Park in Downtown Omaha. The marathon and half marathon starts at 7 am Sunday morning. The 5K starts at 10 am, the mile run at 10:30 followed by the 10K at 11 am. Participants can register through race day until 30 minute prior to each event.
Festivities start Saturday at TD Ameritrade Park with a health and fitness expo and the public is invited. The Omaha Marathon is a qualifier for the Boston Marathon.
