The Nebraska State Patrol arrested Shawn Ebeling on a warrant after a state patrol investigator had followed up on a statement from BSDC that alleged abuse had taken place at Unit 404 State Building on the BSDC Campus, August 9th.
Friday, a hearing was held in Gage County Court, where Judge Steve Timm ordered that probable cause information be released to the media, with the name of the victim redacted.
Two state patrol investigators interviewed a reporting party on August 24th, who said an individual at BSDC had become upset, and struck his head against a wall two or three times. The witness said the individual ran to a door trying to escape, but was blocked by Ebeling, who then allegedly struck the victim twice, above the ear after the individual attempted to bite Ebeling on the shoulder.
The witness told authorities that Ebeling then grabbed the alleged victim, struck his face on a handle attached to a fuse box, causing him to bleed above the eye. The witness also claimed Ebeling threw the victim down a hallway.
Investigators say information from the interview of the witness was consistent with a written report provided to BSDC staff.
NSP reports Ebeling told investigators he became upset the alleged victim tried to bite him.
