Pierson-El to return to practice

Nebraska football coach Mike Riley says De’Mornay Pierson-El will return to practice this week. The sophomore wide receiver and punt returner has been sidelined since suffering a broken foot in practice on August 18th.

Riley says it is possible that Pierson-El could see action on Saturday’s Big Ten opener at Illinois.

“Probably not for a full game of 70 or 80 plays but parts there of hopefully”, said Riley. “One of the dangers here is overuse early so we are going to see where he is”

Pierson-El earned freshman All-American honors in 2014 when he returned three punts for touchdowns last season and led the nation with 596 punt return yards. He added 23 catches for 321 yards and four touchdowns,
