Nebraska mens’ basketball coach Tim Miles says the focus has been on perimeter shooting as practice begins. The Huskers shot only 28 percent from three point range last season in posting a 13-18 record.
“Last year we put so much pressure on our defense because of our inability to make threes”, said Miles. “You can’t always count on how many times you are going to get fouled. Our offense is best when we get fouled on a regular basis but we have to make for three point shots.”
Miles says the goals for this season remain the same despite a new look roster that includes nine freshmen and sophomores. Success will hinge on overcoming a lack of size. The Huskers have only one player on the roster taller than six-eight.
The Huskers open November 14th at home against Mississippi Valley State.
