A manslaughter charge has been filed after a Colorado man died of injuries sustained in a fiery collision in central Nebraska.
Thirty-year-old Jesus Legarreta Germes of Julesburg, Colorado died Tuesday at CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
The driver of the other vehicle, 36-year-old Emilton Flores-Chavez of Lexington, has been charged with manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident. Flores-Chavez also faces charges of failure to yield and having no operator’s license.
The accident occurred last Thursday. According to authorities, Flores-Chavez ran a stop sign at a rural intersection northeast of Bertrand and collided with a car driven by Germes.
Flores-Chavez was released from jail after posting bond and is scheduled to appear in Phelps County Court on October 14th.
