A suspect in a double homicide in Omaha over the weekend has been arrested in Arizona.
U.S. Marshals arrested 53-year-old Michael Nolt in Mesa, Arizona without incident.
Nolt is a suspect in the killings of 26-year-old Malquan King and 23-year-old Arelius Hassell early Saturday morning. 25-year-old Tommynique Valentine was wounded. He was treated and released by Nebraska Medical Center.
There were children in the home at the time of the shooting. None were harmed.
Omaha police say Nolt, King, and Hassell knew each other. All were from Indiana, primarily the Fort Wayne and New Haven areas.
The Omaha Police Department worked with a number of law enforcement agencies to locate Nolt.
Nolt has to be extradited to Douglas County where he will face two counts of first-degree murder, one count of attempted first-degree murder as well as three counts of using a firearm to commit a felony.
“Michael Nolt came into our community and murdered two people and attempted to murder a third person, an Omaha citizen with her children present,” Omaha Police Chief Todd Schmaderer said in a written statement issued by the department Monday.
The investigation continues.
