A former Lincoln middle school teacher has pleaded guilty to first-degree sexual assault of one of his students at a Lincoln residence.
23-year-old Jackson Hedrick entered the plea in Lancaster County District Court.
In exchange for the plea, the Lancaster County Attorney’s office agreed to drop a second felony charge and two misdemeanor charges.
Lincoln school officials say another student brought accusations of inappropriate conduct to the attention of a social worker at another school.
Hedrick, a former social studies teacher at Irving Middle School, was accused of having sex with the 14-year-old girl at a Lincoln residence and of providing alcohol to two high school students.
The Lincoln Police Department reported investigators reviewed messages sent between the two and found texts that were indecent, lewd and sexual in nature.
Hedrick will be sentenced in December.
