Those who lost money in the Taylor Swift concert ticket scam will be getting a check in the mail. The Metropolitan Entertainment and Convention Authority board of directors voted to reimburse those who purchased fraudulent tickets for the show earlier this month at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha. They will receive face-value of the ticket.
Omaha police continue their investigation into the scam that may include a former MECA employee. President and CEO Roger Dixon says, “Actually the person was out in the lobby selling tickets so the indication was if I was the ticket buyer I would think this is a legit sale. Turned out it wasn’t.” Dixon says we fell these people were “duped” so we take ownership of that.
The total amount scammed totaled just under $25,000. Dixon says it could of been a lot worse had it not been for their check and balance system in place.
