Ryker Fyfe is ready if he is needed this Saturday at Purdue. Nebraska’s backup quarterback has been working with the first team in practice this week as Tommy Armstrong recovers from a foot injury.
Offensive coordinator Danny Langsdorf says Fyfe is preparing to be the starter if Armstrong is unable to go.
“I think he has got a quick release and sees the field well”, said Langsdorf. “We looked crisp and sharp on some of the quick passing game and even the play action passes that we want to come out quick I thought he looked good on that stuff.
Fyfe is a former walk-on from Grand Island and won the backup job in preseason camp.
