With quarterback Tommy Armstrong sidelined by what has been called a toe injury Ryker Fyfe gets his first start under center when Nebraska visits Purdue in Big Ten play.
The former walk-on from Grand Island has appeared in eight games for the Huskers and has spent all week taking first team reps.
“We are all very comfortable with that and I was impressed with how our team started from Monday with Ryker taking snaps”, said Husker coach Mike Riley. “I am excited for him and I think he will do very well.”
Weather could also play a factor. The forecast calls for 48 degrees and a 40 percent chance of rain. Kickoff is 11:00a.m. and the game will be televised by ESPNU.
