It was a deadly weekend in Omaha as police investigate a shooting at a popular nightclub. Officers on location of the Slowdown at North 14th and Mike Fahey Streets requested a “Help an Officer” call after a fight broke out just after 1:30 a.m. Sunday. Police say shots were fired inside the venue striking 28 year old Jamar Fields. He was rushed to an Omaha hospital where he later died.
Police say the shots were fired near the back door of the establishment and that the suspect than ran from the building and got into a dark colored SUV and fled the area.
Detectives and forensic investigators arrived and processed the area. This is an ongoing investigation.
