Nebraska has fallen out of the race in the Big Ten West Division but the Huskers can still have an impact on the league race and the playoff landscape in the final three games of the regular season.
Michigan State is seventh in the first College Football Playoff rankings and brings an 8-0 record to Memorial Stadium on Saturday. The Huskers close the regular season at home on November 27th against at Iowa team that is 8-0 and ranked ninth in the playoff poll.
“Those are two real good programs that are both undefeated so it will motivate us to give them a loss”, said Husker junior receiver Jordan Westerkamp. “We are looking forward to these games.”
The Huskers are 3-6 and need to win out to become bowl eligible. Junior quarterback Tommy Armstrong says they need the boost a big win would provide.
“It would be great to win a game like this at home in front of all of our fans and have that confidence boost going into next week”, said Armstrong. “Hopefully Iowa is undefeated as well when they come in here and we get a win to boost our season.”
