Nebraska quarterback Tommy Armstrong was named the Big Ten Conference offensive player of the week for his effort in an upset victory over sixth ranked Michigan State.
Armstrong completed 19-of-33 passes for 320 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns in the Huskers 39-38 victory over the Spartans.
Armstrong says it was far from a perfect effort.
“You know I put our defense in tough situations at times and made some silly mistakes in the red zone”, said Armstrong. “Overall I think I did O.K. It was not my best but at the same time I have got room for improvement.”
It is the second time this season the junior has won the award. He was also honored for his play in Nebraska’s victory over Southern Mississippi back on September 26th.
