A struggling Rutgers offense could benefit from the return of star receiver Leonte Carroo. The Edison, New Jersey native has missed the last two games against Michigan and Wisconsin with a high ankle sprain and Scarlet Knights coach Kyle Flood says he is questionable for Saturday’s game against Nebraska.
“He is doing everything we are asking him to do from a rehab perspective”, said Flood. The minute he can be back out there he wants to be back out there and we are hoping it is this week.”
Carroo was suspended twice early in the season and has appeared in only five games. Despite the limited action Carroo has nine touchdown receptions.
Husker defensive coordinator Mark Banker says they will need to adjust if he is in the lineup.
“He has only played 15 quarters this year and he has nine touchdowns”, said Banker. “By NFL standards a lot of the scouts are talking about him possibly being the first wide receiver to go in the draft.”
