It is the time of year deer hunters wait for. Greg Wagner with Nebraska Game and Parks Commission says the nine day rifle deer hunting season starts on Saturday.
Wagner says, “Thousands of hunters will be in the fields. We want to remind people that safety is the big thing. Wear your required blaze orange cap and vest. Have a game plan with your group before you go in the field and be doubly sure of your target and your background before you fire that shot at a deer.”
Wagner says the deer numbers are good. The mornings of the opening weekend will likely be the best time to spot a deer because of the colder temperatures.
The rifle deer hunting season runs through November 22nd.
