Patience is paying off for Nebraska running back Imani Cross. After serving as a backup for most of his career the senior from Gainesville, Georgia has been inserted into the starting lineup and has led the Huskers in rushing in victories over Michigan State and Rutgers.
“I am thankful that they gave me the opportunity to run the ball and be used in this scheme”, said Cross.” I think my main thing is just to continue to get better every day, focus on the little things and what can I do better to elevate my game and help this team win.”
Cross has rushed for 334 yards this season, including 188 in the past two weeks, and says he gets emotional when he thinks about next Friday’s game against fifth ranked Iowa being his final appearance in Memorial Stadium.
“I am definitely humbled and honored with the opportunity to play at Nebraska and be with great teammates and it is something I am going to miss.”
