The Creighton basketball team will play UMass in the championship game of the Men Who Speak Out Main Event tournament in Las Vegas on Wednesday night.
The Bluejays advanced with an 85-75 victory over Rutgers and will go up against a UMass team that cruised to an 82-65 win over Clemson.
“Their offensively display was incredible”, said Creighton coach Greg McDermott. “Clemson played the two teams that we played so I saw them on film a little bit more and to dominate a team like Clemson was really impressive and we are going to have our hands full.”
Junior forward Cole Huff led Creighton with 26 points against Rutgers and says the UMass perimeter players will be difficult to contain.
“Their guards weren’t afraid to shoot and were putting up a lot of points”, said Huff. “They are a physical team and like to get out and run so we have to match their intensity.”
