Thousands are expected to attend the Wells Fargo Family Festival in downtown Omaha on Sunday. The event is part of Omaha’s Holiday Lights Festival and has become a tradition for many families from several states. The festival features free attractions and special programs at six venues.
The W. Dale Clark Library downtown is partnering with Krypton Comics this year for a super heroes theme with a training camp, pictures with real super heroes and cookie decorating. There is popcorn and holiday crafts at Wells Fargo. Families can explore the Joslyn Art Museum and create their own works of art and see a magic show. The Omaha Children’s Museum features all their permanent exhibits. Tours of the Omaha Mounted Police Barn will be held and pony rides will be on-site. There is also a stop at the Durham Museum where children can pan for gold and see Santa.
Visitors can park at any participating venue to access a free ride on Ollie the Trolley that connects the six venues. There is also free entertainment and food available at several locations. The Family festival runs from noon until 5 p.m.
