A former Lincoln middle school teacher has been sentenced to 20 to 30 years in prison for sexually assaulting a student.
Lancaster County District Judge Lori Maret sentenced 23-year-old Jackson Hedrick, a former teacher at Irving Middle School.
The Lincoln Public School District fired Hedrick after he was accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a 14-year-old student. One allegation accused Hedrick of buying alcohol for the student and one of her friends in March.
Hedrick pleaded guilty in October.
He served as a student teacher in the Lincoln district in 2014. He began work full-time at Irving in the fall of that year, teaching social studies and serving as assistant cross country coach.
