United States Sen. Deb Fischer rejects Donald Trump’s call to ban Muslims from entering the country, but doesn’t reject him as the potential Republican presidential nominee.
Fischer flatly rejects Donald Trump’s call to keep Muslims out.
“Well, I don’t believe we should single out any religion and base any kind of immigration policy based on religion,” Fischer tells Nebraska reporters during a conference call.
But, would Fischer back Trump if he secures the Republican nomination for president?
“I will support the Republican nominee,” Fischer says without referring directly to Trump. “I believe that the Republican nominee will offer good solutions on a lot of the challenges that we’re facing and I don’t believe that Hillary Clinton will be offering any good solutions on the challenges that we’re going to be facing and that we do face as a country right now.”
