Winter weather has returned to western Nebraska, carrying quite a punch.
Winter weather advisories and warnings still remain in effect in western Nebraska. As much as five inches of snow has fallen in many areas with freezing drizzle prior to the snow, which is making travel difficult.
Forecaster Kenny Roberg with the National Weather Service says viability could get worse.
“We’re going to see an increase in wind out of the north this afternoon. It could cause blowing snow and dangerous travel,” Roberg tells High Plains Radio.
If you are doing any traveling to the west, just a head up: Interstate 80 from Cheyenne to Rock Springs, Wyoming is closed. Chain laws are in effect along I 70 in Colorado high country.
