Nebraska coach Mike Riley says the Huskers are proud to carry the Big Ten torch as they head to San Francisco to play UCLA in the Foster Farms Bowl on Saturday.
Riley says conference pride is a much bigger part of bowl games than it was just a few years ago and believes the College Football Playoff has elevated the discussion over which conference is the best.
“And I have noticed it more in the last few years that it has become a real big deal about how leagues are doing in bowl games”, said Riley. “I have felt it the last few years more than ever.”
The Huskers will also be out to show that they are better than their 5-7 record.
