It appears criminal charges in Wyoming have kept the suspect in a murder in Nebraska from facing charges here, for now.
24-year-old Zachary Mueller of Bridgeport is accused of killing 33-year-old Pedro Dominguez of Greely, CO and stuffing him in a barrel.
A western Nebraska farmer fished the barrel out of a creek near Bayard on December 4th. Dominguez had been shot in the back of his head.
Investigators suspected Mueller in the murder and found that he was in jail in Wyoming. There, Mueller faces charges of car theft and reckless driving after fleeing from police in Cheyenne. A court date for facing the Wyoming charges has been set for the 16th of January.
Mueller is expected to face charges in Nebraska after the conclusion of his criminal case in Wyoming.
