The Nebraska women’s basketball team could not overcome cold shooting in the first half in an 85-62 loss at 14th ranked Northwestern. The Huskers made only 10-of-37 shots in the opening half, including one-of-7 from three point range as the Wildcats raced out to a 45-23 lead at halftime.
Nebraska rallied in the third quarter by outscoring Northwestern 22-16 and got to within 14 points, but that is a close as the Huskers would get as they fall to 9-4 overall and 0-2 in the Big Ten.
Natalie Romeo led Nebraska with 17 points and Rachel Theriot added 13. The Huskers return to action on Thursday night by playing their third straight ranked foe when they visit sixth ranked Maryland.
