The Wayne State women’s basketball team is looking to break through on the road tomorrow night when they visit Minnesota State-Mankato in Northern Sun Conference action. The Wildcats are 7-6 overall but have failed to win a road game in five tries.
Coach Chris Kielsmeier’s team has had some chances. In their last road game the Wildcats lost on a buzzer beater at Augustana and prior to that dropped a 65-62 decision at Bemidji State.
“I’m not so worried about the fact that we have not won games on the road I am more worried about how we have played and how we have executed and that is our focus”, said Kielsmeier. “We just need to play better and when we do we will win.”
The Wildcats are coming off their biggest win of the season last Sunday when they roared back from an 18 point deficit to beat Sioux Falls 83-73.
“We played as tough as any team I have ever coached and this young team really grew up last weekend.”
