A pair of ranked teams collide in Seward on Saturday when Concordia hosts Dakota Wesleyan in a Great Plains Conference women’s basketball game. The Bulldogs are 13-4 and with nine wins in their last 10 games have climbed to ninth in the latest NAIA Poll.
Dakota Wesleyan is ranked sixth and outscored the Bulldogs 25-10 in the fourth quarter of their first meeting back on December fifth to post a 73-66 victory.
“I think we have figured out how to win together and we have built that collective toughness to find different ways to win big games”, said Concordia coach Drew Olson. “I don’t think we had that at the beginning of the year because we were so young and so new to each other.”
Free throws were a major factor in the first game as Concordia was outscored 22 to nine at the charity stripe.
“That is something we really struggled with at the beginning of the year but we have done a much better job and we are playing really solid defense now.”
