The duffel bags didn’t carry hockey equipment.
Lancaster County sheriff’s deputies have made the largest drug bust in county history after pulling over a 2015 RV rental just outside of Lincoln.
Lancaster County Chief Deputy Jeff Bliemeister says duffel bags, which he called hockey bags, in the RV got the attention of a drug dog. They contained 1,517 pounds of marijuana contained in one pound, individually-wrapped, heat-sealed bags. The value is estimated at $7.5 million.
Three people from Georgia have been arrested: two 28-year-olds were traveling in the RV and a 51-year-old was in an accompanying vehicle.
The suspects were traveling from Oregon, where recreational marijuana is legal.
